      Summer Internship

Undergraduate summer intern at the Protein Information Resource (PIR) at Georgetown University. Performed database queries and management to understand the type of data present in various medical and genomic databases. The ultimate goal was to prepare the data for use in the P2P (Protein to Phenotype) project -- and extension to the UniProt (Universal Protein Resource) project.Skills Acquired:• MySQL Database• Microsoft SQL Server (and MS SQL Server Integration Services [SSIS])• Oracle Database• Neo4j Graphical Database Show less

Granted an undergraduate fellowship from NetApp for research in computer systems. Specifically, researching performance-based thread scheduling and assignment in the field of heterogeneous multi-core processors. By working on the ODROID-XU3, the task is to develop a way to intelligently plan the assignment of threads to 1-4 high performance Arm A15 processors or 1-4 higher efficiency Arm A7 processors. The scheduling algorithm was originally written for the Intel QuickIA heterogeneous multiprocessor. The task now is to adapt the code for the ODROID-XU3, and inspect the algorithm's ability to work across platforms. Show less As a part of the Project Studio course at the University of Pittsburgh, NetApp has assembled a team of undergraduate Computer Science students to implement prototype software for potential use in future iterations of the AutoSupport software. My team is writing automated AutoSupport scripts in Python for future development and implementation. The goal is to automatically present relevant support data to the end user with better readability and allow the user to better understand the meaning failure, errors, and system changes. Show less
