  • Material identification, Stage wise Inspection, Weld visual & final dimensional Inspection, Blasting and Painting inspection.• Develop/Review and qualify welding procedure specifications (WPS) and related procedure qualification records (PQR), Perform welder qualification test, interact with welding department and with welders to minimize the welding errors/defect, to meet the Client’s requirements. • Checking that only approved electrodes, filler wires and gas is used.• Checking of welding parameters, as per the approved WPS (Ampere, Voltage, Travel Speed and Gas flow rate) and checking the adequacy of welding equipment and ensure proper preheating (if required).• Ensuring that each item has been properly inspected and documented in accordance with the Quality Control Plan for site activities.• Monitoring welding activities, in particular, the adequacy of joint preparation, surface condition and electrodes in case of rain, wind, low temperature, or other adverse climatic situations.• Interpretation of NDT jobs such as radiographic testing, ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, penetrate testing and preparation/review of reports.• Review the quality related documents (QAP or ITP) and ensure proper implementation of quality as specified in the quality assurance plan (QAP) or as per client’s requirement.• Follow up of weld repairs, Investigate root cause and make recommendations in order to control the repair rate.
