  I started with this establishment as a dishwasher, but when they discovered that my true passion was anything computer, they put me to work. Yogis was a fairly successful pub in Bloomington that catered to the college and game-day crowd. They were quite innovative with their approach to technology, and had wireless POS entry devices well before most other places. I worked on everything from their website to the POS and security camera systems, which consisted of 9 Windows-based Aloha terminals and a server. This was also my first real experience with data analysis. I looked for patterns in the sales figures over many years. I also developed some skills making Windows and Linux coexist. Show less

  I worked for Core Services, a section of UITS and Research Technologies. We maintained infrastructure used to support other people's projects. My duties started with Unix/Linux help-desk and expanded to include website design, software development, data-mining, and some security.

  Ivy Tech Community College

  Designed, implemented, and managed the infrastructure used by the School of Information Technology to educate their students. There were over a hundred student workstations, a Cisco-based network using a fiber backbone, and numerous Windows and Linux servers in production. OIT Help-Desk (formerly CTS) is responsible for supporting the technological needs of students, faculty, and staff associated with Ivy Tech Community College. My duties were many and varied, from Systems Administration at a campus satellite in Bedford, to discovering and documenting the procedures necessary for our Facilities department to access the web-based HVAC controllers. Of course, there was plenty of printer problems and software installations along the way.
