Inspired by the late Nobel Peace Prize laureate Prof. Wangari Mathai's story of the Hummingbird, I aim to positively impact the environment by addressing the issues of deforestation and the need for a reliable and eco-friendly cooking energy source. One of our popular solutions, Makaa Tunza (loosely translated as "charcoal that conserves"), offers briquettes made from carbonised waste biomass mixed with a binding agent, which is cost-effective, smokeless, emits lower carbon emissions, and last three times longer than traditional charcoal. This venture creates job opportunities for youth and women, helps to conserve trees, aids in waste management and reduces in-house air pollution to its users. Show less
