      MSc Research Topic: Electric Motors and Machines play a dominant role in modern societies. A new type of motor, the Reluctance Synchronous Machine (RSM) offers some advantages over the Induction Machine (IM), in variable speed applications such as traction vehicles. The research is in performing accurate comparisons of the prototype motor with the existing induction motor that it is supposed to replace. The performance tests are based on industrial standards, to determine whether the prototype can serve as a viable replacement to the induction motor. Show less
