  I worked as a student employee at the Information Desk near the main entrance of the hospital. This position involved: providing general information to patients and visitors that came into the hospital; directing patients to the location of their appointments; managing the main lobby; ensuring that patients have rides home; and other clerical tasks. I was required to have: excellent communication skills; know and comply with HIPAA codes, including patient confidentiality; have extensive knowledge about every clinic, unit, and lab in the hospital; comply with basic hospital rules, such as sanitary rules; and be vigilant for medical emergencies.In this job, I also helped train hundreds of volunteers throughout the years, usually doing their orientation and/or training.
