      Charlene Thompson, Esq. is the founder and CEO of TEDS. Ms. Thompson works with a team of professionals experienced in government relations, grant writing and administration to provide customized services to municipal, developer, business and not-for-profit clients of all sizes. She has been a practicing attorney since 1995. Prior to the founding of Thompson Economic Development Services, she served as Assistant to the Director in charge of Legal Services for the Office of Housing and Intergovernmental Affairs. Ms. Thompson also served as Commissioner of the Incorporated Village of Hempstead Community Development Agency from 2018-2021. Ms. Thompson has amassed more than twenty years of experience working with various levels of government on economic, community and business development initiatives, Ms. Thompson authored and/or administered every aspect of several key grant programs for New York State, Nassau County and local government. She specializes in project development, management of federal, state and privately funded programs, compliance and training. She also works directly with government entities and small businesses to expand capabilities and increase capacity to secure and successfully manage government contracts.Ms. Thompson has been qualified by the U.S. Office of Housing and Urban Development as a certified Specialist and Trainer in Regulations and Administration of the HOME Investment Partnership Program. Since founding TEDS, the firm has provided group trainings on HOME regulations, including but not limited to, Section 3 and Fair Housing for the States of New York and West Virginia. The firm has also provided direct technical assistance to recipients of HUD HOME, CDBG, CDBG-R, and NSP funding.Ms. Thompson earned a B.S.
