      Position encompasses patient care and administrative work for Dallas Internal Medicine Group. This position includes working with the scribe in order to complete the H&P, HPI, and taking vital signs for clinic patients. Organization and accountability are required because the coordinator is responsible for completing morning rounds and clinic appointments, and taking all necessary steps to ensure that a patient is stable for surgery from an internal medicine standpoint i.e. scheduling cardiac stress tests, sleep studies, ordering labs.       Physician Assistant for the Orthopaedic Oncology Department for which role includes clinic, OR, inpatient care, ED/floor consults, and on-call, under the supervision of Dr. Valerae Lewis. Patient population includes both children and adults current for benign and malignant bone disorders. 1 –to-1 assignment (though cover up to 5 other surgeons) and act as surgery coordinator--meaning that surgeries are scheduled coordinated and appropriate arrangements in the OR for any/all equipment which may needed. Good examples include contacting the rep for implants, matching allografts, assembling multidisciplinary team for large cases, etc. Role includes patient phone calls with treatment plan, patient education, and important results. Hemipelvectomy was the surgery performed most frequently (approximately 100/year) for which I acted as 1st and 2nd assistant. Other surgeries were lengthy bone and soft tissue sarcoma resections.
