      Jan 2008 - Jan 2010
Production Consultant, Project Manager and Content Producer

I would have no hesitation in recommending both Sue Bowerman and Blanket. Film London had the pleasure of working with Sue and her team from Blanket, over a number of projects in the past two years. Blanket were utterly professional and skilled in being able to provide Film London with the recording and editing of Podcasts (both basic and enhanced with visuals) for its online presence supporting film-makers. Sue could not have been more helpful or supportive herself, always willing to go the extra mile to get the job done, passionate about the work and keeping us, as clients, happy with our commission. The finished results were of an extremely high standard and fitted perfectly our needs. We would highly recommend both Sue and Blanket.Kevin Dolan Talent Development Manager - Film London Show less

    • Red Bull Music Academy Radio

      Apr 2012 - Jan 2012
      Documentary producer and presenter

In 2008, radio producer and journalist Sue Bowerman traveled to Senegal, with West London hip hop and bruk beat pioneer IG Culture, for a project called Bring The Noise. The intention was to explore local music scenes, put together a band, and showcase the results over two concerts in Dakar. What they came across was a bourgeoning network of musicians, separated between griot traditionalists, mould-breaking modernists and forward-looking emcees. Despite the challenging conditions, from 40 degree heat to powercuts and cramped studios overflowing with balafons, koras and other instruments, the group of players operated with utter professionalism. This audio documentary follows IG Culture and the Bring The Noise Band as they fuse traditional African instruments like the kora and the bongo, played by Lamine Konté and Mamadou Kouyaté, with the new school, represented by some of Senegal’s most respected hip hop emcees, including Xuman of Pee Froiss fame, Keyti, and Waterflow of Wagëblë. It’s a tough schedule, with nearly twenty musicians and only ten days to prepare for two special concerts the likes of which Dakar has never heard before. Together, they create a new music and a new community, and open a few ears in the process. Show less
