      On commencing this position, I was required to rotate duties through several manufacturing plants and departments. In each facility, I completed a project on a certain operation section. One task involved analysis of storage facilities within Shell. Whilst completing these projects, I also had to learn sections of the plant in-depth and take responsibility for that area.       Manage a busy 24/7 lab team operating on DuPont and continental shift patterns. Support the QC Eastern Hemisphere Lead through managing, planning, organising, implementing and controlling the daily activities of the QC laboratory to ascertain that both raw materials and array of finished goods meet internal and external specification. This includes management for lab workflow, sample analysis, sample retention, standards management, raw material qualification, outsourced testing, inventory management and document management. Ensure execution of data integrity checks / verifications per procedures. Review SOPs and work instructions. Data Review and Release responsibilities. Review of routine supporting test data and results, including sample preparation records, chromatograms, logbooks, calculations, and data sheets. Enter results in SAP/LIMS.Manage QC lab equipment budget, equipment purchases, installation and initiate change control as needed. Development of lab equipment qualification, protocols and reports. Manage specific area’s equipment administration, including calibration, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting as needed. Compliance / Continuous Improvement within Lab Function Area. Ensure all lab processes are adhering to relevant regulatory and global company policies & procedures.Participate in internal audits. Work collaboratively with Planning, QA, Manufacturing, technical service and Operations to drive continuous improvement. Monitor lab KPIs and drive improvements. Ensure all customer complaints are investigated, improvements implemented and response made in a timely manner. Show less • Worked in a team of two people per 12-hour shift, with help during heavy day periods. The team receives outputs samples from reactors from various plants. These samples must then be analysed to determine quality and accumulate data for certificates of analysis and historical data. This is using a variety of test methods both instrumental and physical. Products must then be adjusted if required using raw materials available on our site. • Other aspects of this work involve the issuing of batch cards, also non-routine testing for customers. A further requirement is to analyse and problem solve on non-conforming batches. A lot of the work unsupervised. • Fully trained member of the audit team for HSE procedures regularly completing audits. • Headed a $10M project to refurbish the QC lab, this included lab design, safety requirements and coordinating the movement into a temporary lab for 6 month and the return once work was complete.
