  In my current role as the Development Manager for Lazarex, I partner with other organizations to provide a more complete network of support and resources for cancer patients. I raise money to give hope and a chance at living to advanced stage cancer patients through clinical trials navigation and reimbursement for the expenses to get to clinical trial treatments. I also serve as the Program Liason for Lazarex’s IMPACT and PATH Programs – working with communities to promote early detection and cancer screenings, improve survival rates and build awareness and understanding about cancer. My work is my passion and my husband’s legacy. Every day, I draw on my own personal experience supporting someone with cancer as I work with my sisters and the rest of their team to increase access and awareness about clinical trials and address health disparities affecting cancer patients and medically underserved populations. Show less I am a founding member of this non-profit cancer organization, created in memory of my husband who fought and died of pancreatic cancer at the age of 46. Lazarex CF mission – IMproving Patient Access to Cancer Clinical Trials (IMPACT) - to help cancer patients find FDA approved clinical trials options and reimburse them for travel costs to participate – was inspired by the challenges Mike and I encountered when he was diagnosed and fighting his cancer. As a board member and volunteer for many years before coming to work full-time at the non-profit, I helped plan and host many fundraising events to raise money for patients and worked to build awareness of the need to support patients in ways that give them hope and a better chance at life.
