  Aa a Health and Safety Champion based in the North East of England I am responsible for Health and Safety Visits and Audits, Risk Management and Fire Safety Inspections in line with the Fire Regulatory Reform Act 2005 and report direct to the company's Health and Safety Manager. For Individual Units I assist my colleagues with any Health and Safety issues they may have. I am also one of The Rank Group PLC Health and Safety Champions Proudest achievement to date is a 5 Star Audit from the British Safety Council and then being awarded the Silver Sword Of Honour.My role within the senior management team as an Operations Manager at a site responsible for 45 staff members and 3000+ customer visits per week. • Compliance with the legal and company guidelines in relation to Health and Safety and gaming requirements. • Strategic planning of promotions.• Recruitment and training for new and existing staff. • Coaching, developing, and supporting staff. • Carrying out appraisals to enable staff to maximise their potential. • Striving to enhance the customer experience through outstanding customer service. • Working within the boundaries of a major corporate brand.   I am a field based Health and Safety Professional, working for the Rank Group, my remit is that I advise 70+ sites, 140+ as a Team, including Grosvenor Casinos, Mecca Bingo and support office on all areas of Health and Safety/Fire Safety/Food Safety.-Working with the Group Health and Safety Manager to implement the Rank health and safety strategy, implementing and changing policies and procedures to enhance compliance and reduce risk-Implementing Health and Safety schemes and programs from Regional Directors and the Rank Health and Safety Committee and giving constructive feedback and results-Analyzing/monitoring the company's Health and Safety management systems in conjunction with industry standards and regulations, conducting site inspections and audits, risk assessments of practices and procedures, including events- Through regular meetings with the Group Health and Safety Manager we keep the company informed of any changes in legislation, Health and Safety, Fire or Food Safety and implement best practice through statutory codes and ACOP's-Being the company gate-keeper on all work related injuries on a daily, weekly and monthly basis through our accident reporting system, reportable and non-reportable, give advice on safe working practice and procedure.Conduct site investigations into any reportable major work related incidents, producing detailed information that can be used by Rank Insurance and Legal Teams and then advise site management and Compliance on suitable harm prevention strategies that may need to be implemented- Being the first port of call for all aspects of Health and Safety/Fire Safety/Food Safety Issues for all levels of the organisation- Conducts all Fire Related Management Roles from Risk Assessments to Fire Door Inspection and dealing with Local Authority Agencies, completing Evacuation Training and use of Evacuation Chairs- Analysis of servicing and site maintenance, controlling contractors, asbestos & legionella management Show less
