Purchase domestic stock from over 30 domestic suppliers for warehouses in Reno, NV and Indianapolis, IN. Updating arrival times for goods which original backorder dates have since passed. Works closely with warehouse supervisor, direct supervisor, and operations manager to update methodology for receiving product in accurately and efficiently. Processing and maintaining purchase order confirmations, informing customers of backordered items, and dating out stock inventory which has been backordered. Monitoring stock pulls from Eastern owner-distributors from our Reno warehouse, and stock pulls from Western owner-distributors from Indianapolis warehouse, submits proposal to supervisor for new stocking items based off of this information, which helps reduce shipping and operational costs. Settle accounting and shipping disputes, as well as other vendor errors such as faulty or contaminated sheaves, bushings, bearings, belts, motors, etc. Contact freight broker when overseas containers are set to port in Chicago, and get information to our warehouse managers when incoming containers are set to arrive at IDC’s docks. Maintain inventory controls within a system of min-max calculations, which I monitor every quarter for each of our 30+ domestic suppliers, and for both warehouses.Build and maintain relationships with owner-distributors and suppliers. Transfer excess stock from warehouse to warehouse, to maintain inventory balance and discipline.Update database system to reflect growing trends, and to remove antiquated procedures, including submitting purchase orders through email or EDI instead of fax.
