  As Senior Director of North American Software Quality Assurance (NA SQA) at Elavon (a U.S. Bancorp company) I manage a mix of 30 onshore and burstable offshore resources, including testers, test leads, project test coordinators, capacity planners, and SQA managers, for a major high-speed payment processing service provider. Duties include performing weekly and release-level demand management against a complex and frequently fluctuating capacity plan; determining resource skill evaluations and project/task allocations; initiating resource on-boarding and terminations; reviewing and maintaining staff adherence to training, compliance and security rules and audits in a highly regulated industry; reviewing and providing coaching and opportunities for staff including through personal development, certification offers, evaluations, and annual bonus allotments; creating, evaluating and continuously improving important SQA processes, procedures and lessons learned; ensuring SQA teams meet release, quarterly and annual team goals for project commitments, quality targets, cost and effort variances, SLAs, and defect metrics/ratios; delivering regional (NA SQA) statuses, communications, and escalations to peers and senior- and executive-level leaders; forging effective relationships and engaging interactions with key members and stakeholders across multiple levels of the business and SDLC including with development, business analysts, operations, demand management, change management, project and program management, release management, and user-acceptance testing teams. Performed demand management, resource allocation, hiring, dismissal, recurring one-on-one evaluations, staff development, annual performance reviews, and bonus allotment. Grew the department by 600 percent and sustained that growth with low turnover. Created accurate historical models to estimate future test durations; implemented plans to balance test durations with proper risk mitigation; created, tracked and analyzed monthly quality metrics; determined root-cause analysis and improved processes to reduce production incidents.
