I offered mock interviews, CV preparation, mock exams and grammar classes to students with an intermediate or advanced level who were looking to secure a job / further education position in and English-speaking environment.

  Working on a team of 20 PSAs, offering information, resources and advice to undergraduates and postgraduates from various backgrounds and sectors on next steps on their journey to securing an internship, placement, graduate role or full time employment. Most interactions are 1:1 and in person but also involve creating social media for a growing account of 8,000+ followers and answering queries via email and the intranet. Another responsibility is assisting with the preparation and running of career fairs and promoting the careers centre around campus through brand awareness stalls. Ability to align my work on career development while supporting students in various disciplines allows me to continuously learn more about different fields and job markets. Show less Working as a Student Engagement Co-Ordinator with an award-winning project in its first two years (Middle Ground Network - part of the goals of the Lifelong Learning Centre for widening participation). Roles included planning and leading events on and off campus - liaising with external venues and completing risk assessments. Creating forms and hosting focus groups to collect data and chairing meetings to discuss feedback and future plans, as well as creating social media content, including using Canva. Working with other students at the university to create an encouraging and fun environment - all of whom are younger mature students looking for an open and friendly space at the university. Another focus is on general mature student experiences at university and how to improve them - attending meetings, managing social media accounts, and attending on-campus events as a representative of younger mature students.
