      Sergeant (E5)

My MOS was a 105 Recoilless Antitank Rifle Gunner (Vietnam-era technology) and later a Dragon Team Leader. I had two tours at the USMC Okinawan and Fuji, Japan Training Camps and participated in a joint training operation with the Canadian Army. I competed in the "All Marine Corps Rifle Squad "Super Squad" Competition twice and received a gold and silver medal. The competition was held at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. The Commandant of the USMC awarded me the Gold medal at the opening ceremony of the Summer Parades held at the 8th&I Marine Barracks in Washington, DC.I repeatedly attained a perfect score on the annual Physical Fitness test (PFT) and Expert Riflemen with the M-16. In addition, I received my high school Diploma while in the USMC.Other distinctions include a Certificate of Citation, three Meritorious Masts, two Over Seas Deployment Medals, and a Good Conduct Medal. Plant Project and Pipeline Engineer

I mostly worked as a pipeline engineer doing the first part of my career. I had a three-year tour as a plant project engineer working in Hannibal MO where I installed API tanks, ASME pressure vessels, heat exchangers, cooling tower, three 1500-ton chillers, pneumatic systems, centrifugal pumps, piping and instrumentation because the levee broke.I also experience building a levee during the Mississippi flood of 93’ and being conveyed to the plant over a corn field in pontoons boats for three months while the water level dropped. • ConocoPhillips

      Dec 2005 - Oct 2015
      Sr. Drilling Engineer

EagleFord Well Bore Strengthening (WBS): Developed and executed the COPC Eagle Ford WBS Project with the support of management, SMEs, and field personnel. The project consisted of a four-well pilot test which resulted in a 25% reduction in drilling costs. This process has been used by COPC since 2012 on 10% of the wells drilled in EagleFord. EagleFord WellCat™ and StressCheck™: Provided high-level technical load case evaluation, incorporating drilling, completions, production operations, and well control. Used Landmark software to evaluate and interpret the stresses, thermal and bending effects. EagleFord Solids Control: Collaborated with operations, drilling team, and COP SMEs to develop and roll out Eagle Ford Solids Control Best Practices reducing diesel dilution, OBM loss to cuttings, and NPT as a result of lower LGS in the Eagle Ford Fleet. Performed a technical evaluation of the drilling fluid contractor's services and capabilities. Led the Derrick Hyperpool Shaker study as an alternative to dryer shakers and centrifuges as a means of solids control. Well Planner and drilling rig support: Developed well plans using offset data in coordination with field personnel, facilities, GEOs, production, and completion engineering. BHA and drill bit optimization using Landmark Wellplan to perform vibration analysis and optimize hydraulics. Wellpath optimization using Landmark Compass. These efforts contributed to achieving a 40% foot-per-day improvement in 2012. Support safety by conducting site safety audits in the field, participating in the STOP program, Stand Downs, Safety Meetings, and stressing safety through the COP Safety Leader Principles. This effort contributed to achieving 1500 days without an LTI.Drilling Geographical Experience: EagleFord, North Louisiana, and South Texas. Show less

      Oct 2015 - Jun 2018
      Sr. Engineer

Led evaluation of tubular designs by thermally modeling drilling, completion, stimulation and injection operations, and calculating Annular Fluid Expansion (AFE) and well head movement. Incorporated the modeling results and analyzed tubular loads using WellCat, Stress Check and in-house applications. Project locations included North Sea, Ghana and Gulf of Mexico.Instructed WellCat classes domestically and abroad in the U.K. and Malaysia.

    • Halliburton

      Jun 2018 - Jun 2024

I created engaging web-based training modules and tests viewed worldwide within the Halliburton organization. To accomplish this, I worked with in-house and third-party organizations using the following audio/video applications and equipment: Smartphones and digital cameras WellSaid AI text-to-voice software Kaltura screen capture software Articulate 360 web presentation software Question Mark cloud-based assessment software Adobe software: Premiere Pro video editing Audition vocal correction After Effects green screening, advanced motion graphics, color enhancement, and video transparency creation Photoshop and Illustrator were used as needed Once I loaded the E-Learning content into Halliburton's internal training platform, I organized the individual modules into programs/curricula and tracked employee training completion using Power BI. In addition, I generated internal social media postings using Viva Engage to promote Hallibuston's Digital Well Construction platforms and applications. Show less I created, recorded, and edited E-Learning content for Halliburton, Landmark’s String Integrity & Hydraulic (SI&H), and Casing & Tubing Design (C&TD) online development program. Then I configured the websites to access this material using third-party software provided by Halliburton. In addition, I performed administrative updates to the E-Learning environment. This project supports Halliburton Landmark’s well construction software competencies initiative by teaching O&G drilling theory, terminology, and exercises to reinforce drilling engineering software use. The coursework starts with a shallow gas well and progresses in complexity until the student designs from scratch a subsea GOM well using Landmark construction software: Compass®, WellCat®, Stresscheck®, Casingwear®, and Wellplan®.In addition, I developed a stand-alone series of E-Learning content for Landmark’s Compass®. These classes include the study of geodesy, Sperry Drilling Services, directional drilling units, surveying tools, infield survey correction, instrument perforce models, and directional driller rig calculations along with extensive use of the Compass®. As a final assignment, the students plans an unconventional well array and does an anti-collision analysis on it. Show less
