    • The Kingsway Kiosk

      Jun 2018 - Jun 2022
      Waitress

I have a variety of jobs whilst working at the kiosk including serving at the till, taking out food orders, preparing hot and cold food, and serving ice cream, proving me not only to be adaptable but also demonstrating communication skills with colleagues and customers. This has allowed me to learn an array of different skills including food preparation, money handling, customer service and teamwork. Working during the summer period, the Kiosk would become extremely busy to it being situated just off the beach, showing my capability to work in busy conditions without being stressed. Show less

    • JOHN BARKERS SOLICITORS LIMITED

      Jul 2018 - Jul 2018
      Work Experience

I completed a week of work experience at John Barkers Solicitors in Grimsby where I shadowed a family law solicitor. As part of this, I went to Lincoln County Court, Hull Combined Court Centre and Grimsby Magistrates’ Court and each day I sat in on different hearings which allowed me to see a wide array of cases. Sitting in court allowed me to watch the solicitors argue whether the conviction was justified or not, teaching me valuable skills on how to articulately put across a point and how to use evidence appropriately to the context and the case. During my work experience I was given the opportunity to engage with a variety of activities including sitting in on hearings and conferences at court, meeting clients and reading up the details of a case at the office. • Legal Cheek

      Jun 2020 - Jun 2020
      Virtual Vacation Scheme

The vacation scheme developed my knowledge in a variety of areas including the commercial legal market, life in different legal sections and the green economy. By setting case studies and tasks to complete, it allowed me to understand what working as a trainee would be like. This was done through different methods including presentations, workshops, Q&A sessions and networking. Overall, the week was thoroughly enjoyable and very insightful. The sessions involved a variety of different topics including; 'The Green Economy', 'Life as a debt finance lawyer' and 'Life as a litigator.' I thoroughly enjoyed all the sessions, especially 'Understanding the commercial legal market' because it developed my understanding in an area I am particularly interested in. I would like to thank Legal Cheek and The University of Law for allowing me this opportunity in such a difficult time. I am also grateful towards all the speakers that gave very insightful talks. • Bright Network

      Aug 2020 - Aug 2020
      Internship Experience UK

Due to being on holiday when the first Bright Network internship for commercial law went ahead, I am grateful they offered an On Demand experience. This allowed me to complete the work at my own pace and submitting the work by the due date. I learnt a lot of valuable information about different sectors within commercial law. These companies included Clyde & Co, Slaughter and May, Allen & Overy, Herbert Smith Freehills and Sidley Austin.
