  Investment banking and asset management simulation

  I successfully completed the Finance Accelerator Simulation, hosted by AmplifyME in collaboration with Morgan Stanley. This opportunity allowed me to immerse myself in the fast-paced investment banking world through a 2-hour simulation, in which we managed top global assets, adjusted portfolios and attempted to outperform the market benchmark. We alternated between buy-side (asset manager) and sell-side rolls (investment banking) to analyse individual strengths and weaknesses. In my role as an Investment banker:- Maintained good relationships with clients by offering tight spreads for their trades.- Scored 100% on FFC, which ensured that I made no quantitative errors during my transactions. In my role as an Asset Manager, I invested a $20,000,000 portfolio, into a diverse range of assets such as Boeing, Coca-Cola, Google, Nike and Pfizer.- Produced an ROI of 66%.- Scored 95% on Risk Appetite, insinuating that I had a high level of conviction with my trades and was able to invest all my client's funds rather than suffering from indecision.- Received an overall score of 76%, placing 12th out of 100+ participants. This simulation taught me practical skills such as:- Quick decision-making in a fast-paced environment.- Analysing impact of company strategy and announcements on stock prices.- Leveraging client relationships and facilitating trades.- Appreciation for liquidity risk.
