Together, Rochelle Waldoch, Chad Schwartz, and Blia Yang completed a significant project upgrade and migration to improve the county’s Laserfiche application. Laserfiche is the Enterprise Content Management system for the county that allows for securely storing and retrieving images and electronic documents. It has been in use since 2009. Each member of the ECM team has provided Ramsey County with their Laserfiche expertise. In August of this year (2021), the team completed a multi-year effort to upgrade this software from version 8 to version 10, and more significantly, migrate from on-premises servers to the Azure cloud. This project was the first application to be moved to this new architecture. The lessons learned from this challenging project will pave the way for future migrations with fewer unknowns. The ECM team collaborated with the cross-functional IS teams that include Security, System Administration, Database Administrators, Desktop and Engineering Services, Service Desk, and Networking teams, who also deserve a great deal of appreciation to make this project a success. The ECM team worked tirelessly throughout the upgrade and migration to complete the tasks and continued to work both weekdays and weekends after the migration to stabilize the system and support the business users. The ECM team did this work with outstanding determination, staying focused on customer service and how to deliver the best user experience.I am proud to have supervised and led this ECM team to accomplish this big project. My heartfelt thanks and appreciation go to each of my team members for their efforts to make this major upgrade and the migration a success; it was a monumental task with a small team that was made only possible by their skill, knowledge and dedication. All my ECM team members truly deserve the special recognition of being Shining Stars of IPR! Show less
