  It is clear in my experience that we all have glass hearts, scarred hearts that have been broken in some way. It is in "community" that these unique broken shards can be gathered and meticulously melded back together. In the end, it is love that serves as a glazier that connects our wounded hearts, building them into a “stained glass” masterpiece—a community of complex mosaics. This arduous, but beautiful, process brings wholeness and join us together to form diverse and profound community.

  The heart of this role is to build in a relationship with the young dads signing up with CAMP Family (Colorado Adolescent Maternity & Pediatric) pre-birth in order to develop a longer-term connection that continues on for up to 12 months post-birth. This is a critical window in the life of a young father and his child! There are between 250 and 300 young moms who contact CAMP Family every year. My hope would be to connect to those who want to be engaged and become great dads!

  Why does Love matter? When we are unloved as a child and even as an adult, it can cause us make choices that often don’t make sense. This wild journey towards finding love has played out in my story. I searched for this deep and real love within years of marriage and in my career, tirelessly believing it could be found elsewhere. I searched for it in religion and in founding and running a non-profit. In all of this, I did not find what was missing. I woke up to an almost a daily voice, fueling my anxiety, telling me I was not enough. Loneliness was a constant friend that has had to be overcome.I have discovered that Love is the glue that holds our lives together. I have learned to love well, and to accept being loved. A huge piece of this is believing that I am lovable and deserving of another’s deep and intimate love. Empathy and kindness are part of the foundation of what I have experienced within this life-altering word, LOVE. In fully experiencing it, I have found myself and the extravagant love I now offer to others. Show less

  Recently, I noticed a need in my community and decided to help out through the Nextdoor app. I started by offering a free hour of service to the elderly, single moms, veterans, and those with a temporary or permanent disability. I quickly discovered that many were taken advantage of with exorbitant prices and half-assed jobs being left behind. I decided to step into this and started a business called Neighbor 2 Neighbor. This has allowed me to serve within my community and earn some needed extra income.
