      Sept 2015 - Dec 2016
      Graduate Assistant

I worked in an office helping the education department in any way possible. I worked to create the Teacher Education Council's Newsletter in both 2015 and 2016. This included meeting and interviewing several different members of the Education Department staff as well as attending some on-campus events. I was responsible for creating Excel spreadsheets of confidential student files and worked on organizing data. I also helped prepare for the DESE On-Site visit and participated in a focus group with my peers. During my time at this position, I met and created relationships with some of the most influential people in the education department at the university. Show less

      Jan 2017 - now
      Long Term Substitute Teacher

I work in a 3rd Grade inclusion classroom. I co-plan and co-teach with a special education teacher who is in the room for both ELA and Math. Mapleshade uses the Eurika Math program as well as STMath for 45 minutes a week. I have become familiar with a Response to Intervention teaching style as we have RTI three times a week for 30 minutes. This is a very useful time to pull students who need extra support in any area. I teach all subjects to a group of 18 students.
