  In this role, I effectively taught students in 2nd grade the basic concepts and skills in elementary education ensuring high-quality retention. I also trained students through activities and homework to facilitate individual learning at an early age. I created an inviting classroom environment for students to ensure active participation. As a fourth-grade teacher, I established rules and routines for students to create a productive rhythm at school which students may adapt at home. I also produced an interactive class to enable the students to apply their learning in hands-on experience. I arranged lesson plans for an organized flow of discussions to ensure understanding and retention with students.

  On-line instructor: word study

  Here, I created and taught an online Word Study class dedicated to all Loudoun County teachers. I also taught ten classes designed to meet adult learners' needs and increase their knowledge in implementing word study. The course materials and use were streamlined and easy to navigate for all learning levels of students. Additionally, I oversaw and encouraged student engagement through a collaborative platform allowing for sharing their understanding and relevance of the material.

  As a member of this board, I mentored 60+ candidates through the National Board Certified Teacher process in all subjects/specialties. I am NPBTS certified candidate provider. I also created and presented research-based professional development sessions to candidates explaining exemplary teaching skills and student learning strategies. Worked with a core team creating an online support program allowing any potential candidate access the information. Designed, facilitated, and socratically mentored candidates through the process of earning their national boards. Show less
