      Wireless communication technician

With the mining and exploration in the Yukon a major portion of my time is spent installing 3-season solar powered VHF or VHF/UHF linked repeaters and satellite ground stations in the KA/KU and C-Band spectrum to provide remote communications for exploration camps all over the Yukon territory.I have also been apart of team for the installation of a 3.8m C-band parabolic antenna system to provide a mine in northern BC a 10 Mbits/s symmetric high speed satellite link to support data communications between the Calgary central office and the mine site.Other projects I have done include microwave links, tower installation, relocatable communications shelters designed to support a wide range of communications equipment and systems, and fleet tracking radio systems. I have been very fortunate to be apart of the team at Total North communications which allows me to keep expanding my knowledge and skills in the wireless communications industry. Show less
