  As a bilingual substitute teacher, I help children feel comfortable asking any questions in their native Spanish language, I guide their activity, I explain a topic, I sit individually with a child who is not understanding the topic, I follow the classroom discipline established by the teacher. I see to it that their “light bulb” eyes are lit many times during my stay.As a long-term substitute teacher I have developed lesson plans, set several hours during lunch with students to work on attitudes, behaviors and work on math and reading.   I am currently working as a free-lancer for Lexalytics Inc. providing native language skills to assist in the training of Portuguese, Spanish and English support for a text analytics software package. I tag POS, entities, identify sentiment and tone of text. I have read over 5,000 newspaper articles to help train Lexalytics Salience software. I have also translated documnets to assist on building a new engine for an online encyclopedia.Result: As a result the software will be able to read Portuguese and Spanish text in the way a native speaker would.
