My father-in-law who was a well known and respected architect once said that after spending his time designing a building and watching a myriad of contractors build it "the guy who just sticks the sign in the yard walks away makes the most money". We used to laugh about it but what my father-in-law didn't know is a Commercial Real Estate Agent wears many hats. You have your financial hat you wear to understand numbers and not just simple math but the kind of financial math that makes most peoples eyes glaze over. A hard hat comes in handy since you must be able to read blueprints and actually UNDERSTAND them. At one point every building was nothing more but a drawing and if you can look at that drawing and just know what the finished product will look like you are in a very small group of people. Another hat is a great big negation hat and sometimes you have to hit people with it to keep them from being either stubborn or stupid. Oh and lets not forget the researcher hat, after all how can you give solid advice if you don't know your market. It's hard sometimes to stand up straight and walk tall wearing all of those hats but I manage to do it everyday. I think my father-in-law would be proud. Show less
