      The head of a programme office of project managers responsible for delivery of all change into BT's UK Local Loop Transmission Platform and resolving in-life quality issues.My key responsibility was to identify and deliver change to support new products/services, to reduce whole-life cost, meet regulatory/health & safety/security/environmental obligations and resolve in-life quality issues. These changes involved the introduction of new transmission technologies/IT/working practices or modification of existing. Show less I was the head of a team responsible for:• Building and managing the capital budgets (~£100M) for the purchase of equipment for the delivery of wideband digital leased lines and telephony/ISDN BRA to Greenfield sites.• Managing stock levels and supply of equipment.• Setting policy and rules for the Network Planners; who plan schemes using the equipment and spend the budget.• Within the scope of the budget, identifying and driving through propositions to support equipment obsolescence, support new products/services, to reduce capital expenditure and reduce operational costs. These propositions resulted in either network re-engineering and/or modifications to working practises and operational support systems.       I managed many development projects for Telstra Billing and Revenue Assurance/Fraud Detection Applications both as the EDS Project Manager and Lead Project Manager across all vendors engaged on the project on Telstra's behalf.The most significant projects managed were those that formed part of Telstra's 3G product launch, introduction of Windows XP to the Telstra desktop and Telstra's IT Transformation Programme.The projects covered mainframe, midrange and desktop environments and involved multi-national teams (Australia, New Zealand, India and USA).All projects were managed using the Telstra Delivery Process (TDP).       Established and operated a high-performance Factory based on scaled agile principles for the delivery of changes to all Cloud IT business and operational support systems to support new Telstra Cloud products, covering Discovery, Design, Build, Test and Release phases.The Factory provides clearly defines services to projects providing them with a one stop shop for all their IT delivery needs.The Factory manages a variety of applications using teams located around the globe.The key capabilities managed by the Factory are:- An online web store for Telstra customers to purchase Cloud products and charge them to their Telstra account- An online web portal for Telstra customers to manage their purchased Cloud products- An online web portal to enable Telstra customers to connect their clouds using their Next IP service and share bandwidth between cloudsThe following Cloud products (IaaS, PaaS and SaaS) have been delivered successfully by this Factory:- Resale of Cisco Inter-cloud Services, vCloud Air, SoftLayer, Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure clouds- Cloud Direct Connect (CDC) to enable customer to connect their clouds to their Telstra NextIP service, supporting both clouds purchased through Telstra or BYO- Symphony- Purchase and management of RiverMeadow, Cumulocity- Wholesaling of Cisco Inter-cloud Services - CDC Gateway to enable customers to connect their clouds using their Next IP service and share bandwidth between clouds Show less Responsible for the management of the programme of work (worth ~$20M in 2013/14) associated with Telstra's NBN Transition Tool (which manages the transition of Telstra's customers/services from its network to the NBN and bill NBN). The majority of the PoW is associated with Telstra's obligations under its Definitive Agreement with NBN, plus supporting Telstra as an Access Seeker. The role involved defining an NTT software release schedule and agreeing with Telstra's NBN Operations team what initiates get packaged into each release, based on initiative business priority, size and fit with the other initiatives in the release. In addition, the role managed the capacity of the vendor to deliver the packaged releases, cut-off dates for entry into the releases and changes to release content. The role required regular presentation to Director and General Manager levels on release status and issues. Show less I performed two types of role in delivering IT changes to NITS applications (covering Telstra's Network Inventory, Planning, Element Management and Network Monitoring systems):1. Project Manager2. Lead Project Manager – representing the NITS for a project spanning many applications and with a number of Project Managers reporting to me.My key achievements included:• Lead PM for delivery of four releases of capability for NBN. • Development and operation of an agile/release managed approach to delivery of projects for an IP network visualisation application. This reduced time to market and cost of delivery, whilst improving quality of delivery. This new approach delivered ten projects successfully over five releases in an 18 month period.• Lead PM for delivery of Application Assured Networking (AAN) that required changes to twelve applications with four Project Managers reporting to me.• Introduction of a new application using the CA Business Service Insight product for the management of SLA's between Telstra and its Enterprise and Government customers, with the first customer being the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA).• An enhancement of an existing Oracle based Network Performance Reporting system to report on KPIs for a new Baseline Telephony product over FTTP. This project included the addition of CR-X as an ETL back-end to acquire data from the relevant data sources, MicroStrategy front-end for reporting and the re-hosting of the application onto a Virtual Machine (x86) environment. Show less I managed the FOXTEL programme of work for the Pay TV related parts of Telstra’s IT Transformation.I also managed various Enterprise Application Integration and Pay TV projects including:• Integration of a new Telstra Shops Point of Sale application with existing Telstra applications using a TIBCO based application integration solution. A large piece of work with 20 interfaces to be integrated.• Delivering JMS connectivity between various components of Telstra’s supply chain solution using Telstra’s TIBCO based Enterprise Messaging System Backbone.• Delivering changes to support the launch of various Pay TV product initiatives, impacting Telstra’s B2B Gateway and Pay TV SMS applications.
