  During my MSc. Food and Nutrition (Therapeutic Nutrition) from Lady Irwin College, University of Delhi, I started working with AIIMS as an Intern on the Project: “A study to estimate the per capita salt consumption and to assess the knowledge of the association of salt intake with iodine deficiency disorders and with cardiovascular diseases in an urban resettlement colony in Delhi”.

  I joined as Junior Research Fellow in the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism and rose to the position of Senior Research Fellow in Oct 2012 and contributed to the DBT Funded Research Project - Childhood Obesity: Inflammatory Markers, Gene Variation and Epigenetics, an Association Study in Urban and Rural Areas of North India. I was involved in defining project budgets, monitoring project progress & resource utilization, ensuring competition within budgets and within the stipulated time, and developing peer-reviewed manuscripts, research publications and delivering paper presentations at international and national level conferences.   After gaining nearly 6 years of research exposure at various departments of AIIMS, I joined Lady Irwin College | University of Delhi, India as Assistant Professor (Ad hoc) in Department of Food and Nutrition and taught B Sc and M Sc students on Clinical Nutrition, Food and Nutrition and PGDDPHN - Advanced Clinical Nutrition, Therapeutic Nutrition, Entrepreneurship in Food Service Management, Public Health Nutrition and Dietetics, Nutrition and Fitness and: A Lifecycle Approach, Entrepreneurship for Small Catering Units (GE).Furthermore, I co-guided students on their projects and seminars, arranged International Cuisine demonstration as a part of Entrepreneurship and work as an Internal & External Practical Examiner for subjects Public Nutrition and Dietetics and Therapeutic Nutrition.   Within the scope of my present responsibilities, I was primarily accountable to drive planning, budgeting, resource utilization and execution of various programmes of NCEARD (supported by UNICEF) whilst researching and developing policy briefs/presentations, working papers, manuscripts, grants for government, corporates, and hospitals/academic institutes.Function as a technical resource for providing expert guidance to various research institutes, bodies and ministries of the Government of India on nutrition and health. Provides SME in developing resource material, guidelines, health and nutrition policies, a toolkit for various ministries of the GoI, in the form of training modules, communication aids, videos/films/radio spots, scripts, presentations.
