Duties included: feeding and providing water, enclosure maintenance and cleaning, administering ocular and oral medication to guinea pigs, and organizing and transporting the animals to veterinary appointments as needed. I also maintained the house and property while the owners were on vacation.

Was involved in a secondary project investigating the effects of dietary composition and rapid growth on the Col-I integrity in salmon and rainbow trout vertebra.

Under the tutelage of Dr. Magda Dunowska, I, along with a fellow student, spent 6 weeks investigating the epidemiology of Canine Pneumovirus (CnPnV) within an anecdotal sample of canine sera from veterinary clinics around New Zealand. This was achieved by performing ELISA assays and analysis on each sample, and culminated in the production of a full research report extrapolating our findings to the likely prevalence of the virus within the New Zealand domestic canine population - a factor that was previously unknown.
