I played a major role in the development of an MS Access portal site accessible by Ordnance Survey's partners. From March 2002 worked on gathering and analysing requirements for updated releases of the web based MasterMap service.January 1999 – October 2000. System Developer.Digital Custmer Supply System. I assisted in creating a new version of software designed to automate the supply process of non-stocked digital products to OS customers.January 1998 – February 1999. System Developer.MOSAIC project, an order processing and invoicing system using SAP R/3. I produced report programs and other interfaces using the ABAP/4 development workbench, as well as some dialog and batch programs.June - December 1997. System Developer.Defect Regulator project, a system designed to log mapping defects by the map production teams. I worked on system analysis and design, as well as creating conversion software for historical records. Show less

  The Cirl Bunting reintroduction project, Roseland Peninsula, Cornwall.I work as a regular volunteer on the monitoring and survey of birds that have been translocated to this part of the UK from a population in Devon. Also of individuals that are the subsequent progeny of relocated birds. This is a nationally important project of a farmland species that has been particularly affected by changes in farming practices in recent years and remains vulnerable to continuing change.

  This role is a vital contribution to the Bycatch Evidence Evaluation Project (BEEP) which aims to provide scientific credibility through the assessment of dead stranded cetaceans reported to the Wildlife Trust. Photographic evidence of strandings is checked and a number of specific features are logged in an Access database for later analysis.As a member of the Marine Strandings Network I am also one of the volunteers available to go and view reported strandings, creating the relevant photographic material for the BEEP project.   To conduct survey work across the known Cirl Bunting range in Cornwall. Fieldwork will be carried out at the tetrad level. The following priority farmland bird species will also be recorded during this survey: Kestrel; Grey Partridge; Lapwing; Turtle Dove; Woodlark; Skylark; Song Thrush; Grasshopper Warbler; Linnet; Yellowhammer; Reed Bunting. The field season runs from April to August. Additionally, there is likely to be detailed field mapping in all tetrads, in a repeat of work undertaken in 2003 and 2009. Show less
