      Responsible for all matters pertaining to the leadership of 300 enlisted personnel, assigned across 4 divisions, at the Coast Guard’s only Aviation Training Center and operational air station. Assists to develop a strategic vision to implement long term solutions to enterprise level issues. Conceptualized and implemented successful Coast Guard wide solutions to see the organization through the COVID-19 pandemic. Prepared, responded, and led recovery during busiest hurricane season on record (2020), deploying aircrews and helicopters all along the Gulf Coast of the United States. Show less Inspect, service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair avionics systems that perform communications, navigation, collision avoidance, target acquisition, and automatic flight-control functions. In addition, inspect, service, maintain, troubleshoot and repair aircraft batteries, AC and DC power generation, conversion and distribution systems, as well as the electrical control and indication functions of all airframe systems, including hydraulics, flight control, landing gear, fuel, environmental control, power plant, drive train, anti-ice, and fire detection. Perform ground handling and servicing of aircraft, and conduct routine aircraft inspections and aviation administrative duties. Fill aircrew positions such as navigator, flight mechanic, radio operator, and basic aircrewman. Supervise training of personnel who operate, maintain, and repair aircraft and aviation support equipment; coordinate administration, planning, and work load scheduling; organize facilities for repair and maintenance of equipment and components; and be responsible for ordering, storing, and inventory of materials and supplies for organizational unit. Conduct the administrative function of the organizational unit; organize, schedule, and evaluate training; review, evaluate, and recommend improvements to aircraft maintenance procedures; and administer long-range aircraft maintenance program.
