      Classroom Assistant

Worked full time as a classroom assistant in a behaviour/nurture unit.

    • St Julies Catholic High School

      Sept 2011 - Jan 2012
      Mathematics Teacher

I taught children in a single sex school (girls) across ages 11-18 through Key Stages 3-5 in mathematics. The classes in this school were divided into sets and I mainly taught the lower sets. Teaching the lower sets often involved using correct behaviour for learning techniques to ensure that the behaviour in the classroom was managed to a level that promoted active learning. As well as teaching mathematics I also got involved in other aspects of the school. Girls from the Everton FC Academy went to this school and every Friday after school I helped coach these pupils with other members of staff. Extracurricular involvement is an aspect of teaching which I really enjoy and wish to continue. Show less

      Feb 2012 - Jun 2012
      Mathematics Teacher

This school was mixed sex and I taught across ages 11-16 across Key Stage 3 and 4. The classes in this school were divided into sets with varying ability and behaviour levels. It was my responsibility to teach these children according to the curriculum to ensure they were prepared for their exams. During the time I taught in this school much emphasis was on approaching exams and with mathematics being a core subject it gave me an opportunity to experience the pressure teachers can find themselves under. However I feel working towards deadlines is one of my strengths and I enjoy the challenge. Show less

    • Citi

      Jul 2012 - Aug 2013
Middle Office Trade Support and Analyst

In Citi I worked in the Middle Office of the fixed rate bonds department. This role involved liaising with counterparties to ensure the settlement of bond trades from the previous day’s COB. The role required me to work consistently well under high pressure due to high volumes of trades across the EMEA region and time constraints on these transactions. The role also required team-work skills and very good communication skills. I maintained and developed strong relationships with front office, legal, risk, and counterparties to ensure the delivery of objectives within tight deadlines. I also took part in a pilot, to test new software, to allow the auto allocation of trades and provided feedback to senior management on its effectiveness. Show less

    • Harberton Special School

      Aug 2012 - Apr 2024
      Teacher & Numeracy Coordinator

In Harberton Special school I am the mathematics coordinator for the whole school and also a post-primary teacher. These roles have given me the opportunity to demonstrate my ability to manage my time effectively, delegate tasks efficiently and manage an area of the curriculum at whole school level. Through my current role I have extensive knowledge of the numeracy and mathematics area of the NI curriculum. I have delivered comprehensive staff training and support to teachers throughout my time in the post. This has given me the opportunity to further enhance my communication skills. I recognise the importance of using data to inform planning and teaching. I have implemented a new data capture system using an online assessment and provided comprehensive staff training on how to use it effectively. This data informs teaching and helps to identify gaps in pupils learning. I have played an active role in bringing ICT to the forefront of lessons and I have identified appropriate online learning opportunities for our pupils through the purchase of subscriptions and new applications. During the current pandemic I also led staff training on how to provide eLearning opportunities to pupils at home which were both engaging and user friendly. As mathematics coordinator I have mentored staff to ensure they are equipped with the knowledge and skill-set needed to maintain the high level of numeracy provision which is provided by the school. Recently I have successfully completed the Education Authority's Pathways to Senior Leadership course. Show less

    • CCEA

      May 2016 - Feb 2023
CCEA Professional Associate / Education Manager

I have worked for CCEA as a professional associate on numerous contracts over the 6 years and I am part of the SLD curriculum development team. The contracts have involved planning, designing and creating resources for CCEA to publish. The resources I developed were published online and I also had the opportunity to develop a microsite for CCEA while working as a professional associate. I have successfully completed contracts to aid teachers in both their own professional development and their teaching. I have also been employed as a professional associate for CCEA to test computer software in supporting pupil development in schools, such as Minecraft Edu edition. I have had the opportunity to present new CCEA resources to stakeholders at conferences and liaise with different multidisciplinary teams to achieve the shared goal of providing a better learning experience for pupils. In 2023 I was successful in being appointed as an Education Manager within CCEA. This has given me the opportunity to manage a team of professional associates. This role as a professional associate for CCEA has been carried out in addition to my role in Harberton School, therefore I have a demonstrable track record of managing and delivering multiple projects at any one time.
