I have worked with animals from various humane societies performing all of the tasks that we should know once we're out in the field. So far in my program I have learned a lot of things such as proper animal restraints, identifying different pathogens and parasites, perform blood, fecal, urine tests. I have learned how to take an animal's TPR (temperature, pule, respirations) and knowing if they are normal or if the animal is above or below normal ranges. So far in my program I have learned a lot of things such as proper animal restraints, identifying different pathogens and parasites, perform blood, fecal, urine tests. I have learned how to take an animal's TPR (temperature, pule, respirations) and knowing if they are normal or if the animal is above or below normal ranges. I have also learned how to do skin scrapings, ear swabs, clean ears, trim nails, along with writing in medical charts. I have now taken specific courses in the last few semesters specializing in Pharmacology, Hematology, Parasitology, Imaging, Large Animals, Exotics, Small Animal Nursing and Nutrition. I should be done with all my courses by June and graduated by September 2016. Show less
