  Controller

  I was promoted from a staff accountant to the Controller of the company. I assisted government contractors in accounting and reporting for the contracts in accordance with FAR & DCAA, and in making contract accounting schedules to keep the costs in line and track the status of the contracts; helped the contractors go through audits; and analyzed and reviewed the financial reports for the managements.I served as the Quality Assurance Auditor on a Federal Government contract, reviewing the collection and payment policies and procedures, the bank reconciliation, the invoice payments, and the receivable and payable reports. I verified the data in the system to assure the validity of the data and the reports. I also performed CPA compliance reviews for approximately 75 ship owners that participate in the Title XI program for the Department of Transportation, Maritime Administration. Destiny CPA staff reviewed the audited financial statements of each company for the years ended 2001, 2002, and 2003, to determine whether the Title XI borrowers met the financial levels defined in, and complied with the provisions of the related agreements and rules.The company was a subcontractor to Deloitte & Touche for the review of Ginnie Mae Mortgage-backed Security projects. For two years, I arranged the reviews; performed tests of mortgage issuers’ management operation, cash management and default loan policies and procedures; reviewed the principal and interest, tax and insurance (PITI) reserve for replacement, and other custodial or escrow accounts to confirm that the accounts were styled and held in accordance with Ginnie Mae requirements and the deposits and the disbursements were handled appropriately and timely; presented findings in a draft report and discussed them with senior management of the issuers and made suggestions to improve the procedures and eliminate errors; and worked with prime contractor to reconcile disputed findings before producing the final report. I deal with customers for timely invoices and collection and vendors for timely payments. I perform monthly and annual closing in Deltek GCS, administrate the timesheet system and process the payroll.
