  As a Community Development Volunteer for the non-profit organization, I had the rewarding opportunity to work within a rural setting of Yola North Local Government Area of Adamawa state and establish strong connections with the local community leaders. My main focus was to foster growth and development within the area, focusing on initiatives such as entrepreneurship training and educational programs for youth and children.My key responsibilities were developing and implementing initiatives that will benefit the community, providing technical assistance, helping in the organizing of outreaches to enhance community knowledge, and creating reports and other materials that will promote the organization’s efforts.Throughout my time in this role, I had great opportunities to gain valuable experience in community development while working with a diverse group of people.I also got to experience working in an environment that encourages collaboration, innovation, and problem-solving.   As a Graduate Assistant in the Agriculture Education department at Federal College of Education, Yola, I am engaging in meaningful, hands-on activities that will prepare me for the professional world.My duties include supporting the department in the planning and instruction of courses, as well as providing assistance in the preparation of learning materials and activities.I work in close cooperation with my mentor (a senior lecturer) to develop lesson notes, design and implement learning activities, and support student research projects.I also provide guidance and support to students in the classroom, such as preparing educational materials and evaluating student progress.Moreover, I have the chance to participate in field activities related to Agriculture Education and assist with collecting data and research. In addition, I assist in writing presentations for my mentor and other administrative tasks. I have been given the opportunity to develop my teaching and communication skills by participating in department meetings and professional development activities. Furthermore, I assist in the coordination of students' field trips.This opportunity is helping me to gain valuable knowledge and experience that will position me well for a career in Agriculture Education.With the help of my mentor, I am gaining invaluable insight into the day-to-day operations of a college program.This gives me the privilege to work with students and the members of the staff from diverse backgrounds and cultures and gain a greater understanding of the many needs and challenges of Agriculture Education.
