  Topbulb, a Victoria Supply, Inc company, offers a comprehensive inventory of specialty and general light bulbs. As an intern, I assisted administrators with the day-to-day maintenance of the topbulb.com website and other affiliated web sites. I supported the coordination and administration of inbound requests with a high degree of skill to develop inventory review sheets. In addition, I performed site content inventory to ensure the accuracy and quality of website images and specifications.

  Epidemiology Intern

  The Life Health Science Internship (LHSI) Program connects IUPUI life and health sciences undergraduates with research and professional experience internships on and near the IUPUI campus. As an intern, I collaborated with physicians and healthcare professionals to investigate the origin and timeliness of sexual transmitted diseases (e.g. chlamydia and gonorrhea). I also assisted with demographics and analyzed data on such diseases to prevent future outbreaks in Indiana.

  During the summer of 2017 and 2018, as a student ambassador, I presented to first-year pre-science and direct admit science incoming students during summer orientation. Presentations consisted of the following: School of Science leadership and highlights, student activities and organizations, goal setting, and academic planning. I also assisted with student registration. Lastly, I documented students on academic probation and honors probation while working on daily projects under the Director of Student Affairs in the School of Science Dean’s Office. Show less As an academic success coach at the Bepko Learning Center, I assisted students with with the following: identifing and clarifying their goals, building an action plan to achieve their goals, developing effective skills and habits based on the students' strengths, and evaluating and re-evaluating their progress toward their goals throughout the mentoring relationship. I also staffed the front desk of the Bepko Learning Center to provide information to students regarding academic support programs, tutoring, and campus resources. Show less As a resident assistant of the STEM floor at North Hall for IUPUI Housing and Residence Life, I organized and coordinated educational programs related to wellness, academics, social justice, and social aspects of college living for roughly 700 students, 35 students directly. I applied crisis management skills to students experiencing psychological and physical stresses, responding appropriately by questioning, referring students to appropriate resources, and following up on the issue. I aided students as a resource for academic and personal guidance while sustaining community standards by performing duties to ensure the well-being of residents.   As a summer graduate intern, at the Office of Academic and Career Development in University College, I served as an orientation student success advisor guiding pre-business students during the two-day orientation programs and registration process while collaborating with Enterprise, Policy, and Planning (EPP) Cluster to prepare for and facilitate advising workshops for first-time college students.

  As a graduate assistant at the Rinella Learning Center (RLC), under RLC’s Collaborative Learning Initiatives (CLI), I assisted in supervising, training, and hiring for the Supplemental Instruction (SI) program. My responsibilities also included instructing EDT 110: Learning Strategies for College Success, facilitating academic success workshops, and providing academic coaching to students, primarily in academic warning or probation. As an advising practicum intern at the Farmer School of Business, I shadowed academic advisors in a variety of sessions to gain an understanding of admission & enrollment steps and the advising process/approach while integrating Canvas advising training modules to advising conservations with students. Additionally, I provided project-based contributions and assisted in their retention committee. As a practicum intern for Curriculum Development & Instruction at the College of Engineering and Computing (CEC), I constructed the curriculum and co-instructed the class for the CEC 201 course. CEC 201 is a one-credit-hour seminar that integrates critical perspectives: social responsibility, humanitarianism, and sustainability. This course was created for the Socially Engaged Engineering and Computing (SEEC) living-learning community (LLC). As a co-instructor of EDL 301: Student Development in Residence Halls, a 7-week sprint course, I trained and prepared 15 first-year resident assistants to work in the Office of Residence Life at Miami University. Topics discussed were the following: strategies to building community, community engagement & campus culture, crisis management & navigating conflict, personal identity exploration, leadership styles, values & ethical decision making, diversity & inclusion, etc.

The course delves into an array of topics, including career assessments, adept team communication, crafting industry-relevant resumes, optimizing LinkedIn profiles, mastering interview techniques, navigating the internship search, and excelling at career fairs.
