  Head of Youth Work (Senior Manager)

  This role ( 2 year contract) was a development role as this was the first time The Sulgrave Club received funding for a full time Head of Youth and Community Work. An all encompassing management position saw me working frontline with Schools, Young People, Children and their Families, as well as building community projects. I oversaw the programme and the session to session running of our Senior Young people (11-25 years old), as well as branching out in creating an outreach programme across all local secondary schools. I created, delivered and evaluated social action projects, focussing on partnerships between a number of statutory, voluntary and corporate organisations, ensuring young people were front and centre. Working with funders, I sort to expand The Sulgrave Club's reach and move it into modern days where Youth Work needs to be multi-faceted to survive and thrive.   As part of John Lyon's Charity Grants Team, I worked closely with the Young People's Foundations (CYP Membership Orgs) to strengthen their delivery, structure and development.I was tasked to enable organisations thrive through 'JLC Extra' including sitting on interview panels, helping trustee boards work efficiently, recruit, and use me as a sounding board, work with staff to develop job descriptions and recruit for specialist staff, use expert knowledge from my frontline experience to restructure and rethink internal structures, give feedback on grantees on how to strengthen their grant applications and get the best out of a complex network of contacts within, and outside the sector.'We give grants to benefit children and young people up to the age of 25 who live in nine boroughs in northwest London.
