      • Performed visual inspection of the machine during planned maintenance shut to ensure all other components are functioning properly and are being loaded safely according to design and component specifications.• Complied and championed with all relevant safety procedures during planned maintenance including risk assessments, permit to work and lock out procedures. • Improved the machine by upgrading major components to allow for machine to operate at required loads.o Controlled machine performance by creating a thorough maintenance plan that includes routine inspection with checks on major components as well as comprehensive lubrication schedules.o After task was completed and maintenance plan created; machine downtime decreased from the 40 hours per month average to 22 hours of downtime. This corresponds to a reduction in downtime of 45% in the first month, further reduction in downtime of 64% in the second month. Show less

      • Improved roll grinder machine operating at half the capacity. Improved the problem by Solutions to reduce downtime:o Clock was installed above the machine which began counting whenever the machine was not running. This added a sense of accountability to the roll grinder operators. (Resulted in improved efficiency with 8 rolls per day average recorded in the first month with the clock, up from an average of 5 rolls per day). o The machine downtime also decreased to an average 18 hours per week in the first month with the clock installed, down from an average of 28 hours per week recorded in the previous month.
