This project aims to develop the design of the Shift fork in an electromechanical dog-clutch actuator using a simulation-driven product development approach.- The component 3D-CAD design is developed for the aluminum die casting (DFM) using Catia V5.- The shift fork undergoes a complex dynamic load during gear engagement and disengagement. Forces acting on the shift fork is measured using a test rig.- Material Selection and modelling for the FEA analysis.- An explicit time-integration scheme is used to estimate the stress acting the shift fork using the synchronization force-time curve obtained from the test rig. (Pre- and post-processing - Ansa and Meta, Solver - Abaqus)- The fatigue life of the component is estimated using FEA simulation and FKM-guidelines.- The equivalent static load is determined and the concept design of the shift fork is iteratively improved using DFM and FEA results. (Solver - Ls-Dyna, design - Catia v5)- The stiffness and mass of the component is optimized using the projected sub-gradient method (Solver -LS -tasc) Show less
