  I'm assessing the synergy between these two classes of antibiotics in two organisms, E. coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. This is a very important drug combination, which have been used in the clinic for many years. We know from preliminary data that this combination works best against P. aeruginosa. I'll focus on the molecular mechanisms behind the antibiotic response in both organisms, which underlay the synergistic effect.
