  Developing University Partnerships: Connecting African Universities with HBCU: A Regional Project for Africa.This project explores both the history and current state of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in the United States with a focus on university administration and best practices. Particularly, the project will explore how these universities and colleges develop and maintain sustainable international partnerships, monetize research, and support faculty collaboration and international research. Participants will see successful models of transnational university partnerships, with a goal of increasing U.S. faculty and student exchanges, joint research, and capacity building.Program ObjectivesThe Department of State has outlined the following specific objectives for the project: • Explore administration best practices at U.S. universities, colleges, and community colleges;• Understand how U.S. universities and colleges develop and maintain sustainable international partnerships;• Explore public-private partnerships, with an emphasis on commercialization, technology transfer, and job creation;• Review university and college best practices for monetizing research; and • Explore how universities and colleges support faculty collaboration and international research (through travel grants, course load reductions, etc.).States ,towns and institutions explored:- Washington DC -Alexandra ,Virginia- Atlanta ,Geogia- Sacramento , California - Philadelphia ,Pennslyvania- 18 black colleges and universities-4 NGO- 10 + research institutes and funding access Show less
