  My task was to secure that Volvo Group had the most cost efficient supply chain design for the service market globally at the same time as the customer requirements on each market are fulfilled. This role gave me a deep understanding of the cost for supply and how performance is affected by different network designs and supply chain concepts. Both the role and the team was completely new when I was recruited and the initial focus was to develop procedures, tools and way of working. This was the second time I took on the challenge to join a team that starts from scratch with the need of developing new processes and interfaces and this is something that I both enjoy and I find myself well suited for. After 5 years the team consisted of highly skilled experts with a very broad understanding of how to design a distribution network and how to analyze impact of total cost and service. The team went from 0 to become a highly trusted source to provide the executive management with valuable input for strategic decisions within Volvo Group.Main responsibilities:-Drive supply chain reviews and recommended improvements for Volvo Groups service market.-Develop models and procedures for supply chain simulations.-Simulate and evaluate how the total cost and service is impacted with different supply chain designs.-Develop supply chain concepts and service offers.-Have a holistic standpoint on Volvo Group’s service market supply chain design. Show less I worked as a project manager for logistic sourcing projects for different commodities and segments (Road LTL, FTL, Air Freight Integrators etc). My responsibility was to lead and coordinate all activities in the project phases from the preparation to the implementation and follow up phase to secure that the requested quality were delivered by the logistic providers and that the financial targets were reached. This included leading cross-functional teams globally within Volvo Group Truck Operations, managing stakeholders on all levels in Volvo Group to secure fulfillment of requirements and also anchoring of recommendations that have the best value for Volvo. The projects usually had a big geographical scope with multiple markets and lasted for 1+ year with a spend of at least 500 MSEK/y.Responsibilities of the role in short:-Deliver the agreed financial and operational objectives within the scope of the sourcing projects.-Secure the implementation of the decisions made in connection to the sourcing projects.-Develop and implement sourcing methodology with the aim to improve the sourcing cycle time from start to finish, a total cost approach and increasing Volvo efficiency and effectiveness.-Strategic development of suppliers.-Participate in the development of transport segment strategies. -Participate in development projects. Show less As Purchasing Analyst I was responsible for performing analysis in Volvo Group’s logistics sourcing projects (both Inbound, Outbound and Logistics Services projects globally). I worked in close cooperation with several departments, both within purchasing and cross functional. I was also responsible for leading internal development activities/projects and on occasion act as project representative for Logistics Purchasing in cross functional IT projects or Volvo Group purchasing initiatives. I also supported Purchasing Management with analyses and reports. Besides this I also developed spend reports in Business Objects to be able to extract and analyze spend data for the transports purchased by Volvo Group.
