    • GreatDoings.com

      Jan 1999 - Jan 2012
      Founder

I founded GreatDoings.com to give Chicago-area charities much needed (and FREE) assistance in publicizing their special events and fund raising efforts. In this regard, we have helped literally hundreds of charities, causes and issue areas raise awareness and money. My "day jobs" have always had demanding and varied schedules. This is a way I can give back to my community that also lets me put my employer and its clients first. Along the way, it has been very rewarding. We have become the largest events calendar in the Chicagoland area focused on upscale events like charity benefits, wine tastings, networking get-togethers and other sophisticated social fare. I work together with six very talented (and like me, volunteer) writers who generously donate their time and energy to parse through hundreds of event submissions every week so we can recommend to our readers the best way(s) for them to spend their social dollars for the social good. • Byrne Law

      Mar 2002 - now
      Founder

The practice of law has reached a tipping point. More than ever, corporate legal departments are demanding more from their outside counsel. They are no longer willing to complacently stand by as hourly rates rise annually without a commensurate increase in the quality of the legal services they receive. Instead, corporate legal leaders are taking a page from their business counterparts, who, for years, have successfully unlocked intrinsic value by continuously refining business processes, leveraging technology to handle both routine and business-critical tasks, and mining data to gain valuable insights.Byrne Law represents a new category of legal service provider: a law firm that can serve as your legal counsel, but one that is uniquely positioned to compress “busy work” that drive up legal spend. Byrne Law is purpose-built from the ground up to be process-driven and technology-enabled. It is part of the firm’s DNA. We look, listen, and focus on what your most important business goals are. We re-imagine, re-invent, and stubbornly refuse to slavishly hold onto the old ways simply because “that’s the way it’s always been done.” We leverage (and re-leverage) data in ways that deliver actionable insights, not only able the task at hand, but the problems just over the horizon. And whenever possible, we happily embrace automation and other means handle less value-added work.As a result, Byrne Law is incredibly efficient, always focused on assigning the appropriate resources to each task… at the right rates. Byrne Law knows how to be disruptive, and is willing to put in the time and resources necessary to help our clients meet their business goals.Byrne Law is different. By design. Additionally, I worked with our financial experts to match up attorney needs with the appropriate in-house damage analysis and investigative talent.

    • KPMG LLP

      Jan 2008 - Mar 2009
      Manager

I worked within KPMG Advisory's Forensic Technology Services practice, a global operation that combines an end-to-end electronic discovery suite of services with measurable differences in quality and review-team efficiency. In addition to digital evidence collection and computer forensic services, we provided advanced discovery management, data conversion and data repository services that leveraged KPMG's Discovery Radar™ suite of applications and infrastructure. I left as part of a RIF of several thousand employees, but still think highly of KPMG's best-in-class capabilities. It was a great experience and I got to work with smart, engaged people. Show less
