  • 2-month placement funded by a Nuffield Health grant. • Continuation of my 3rd year (BSc) project• Analysed the carotid artery bifurcation in stroke patients by using Ultrasound in a novel manner – through shear wave elastography (SWE). • Analysis of patient data• The design, creation, and the analysis of data from an arterial phantom. • Scientific papers have been published from this work.

  • 6-week research placement within the Physics and Astronomy Department on the development of a miniature gamma camera for medical use• Design and implementation of experiments.• In-depth data analysis.• Handling of radioactive materials (Tc-99m) • 2-month placement continuing the research undertaken in my Master's year.• Development of a computer program equipped to deal with detailed hyperspectral images of patients’ limbs, in order to assess its suitability in diagnosing sepsis of patients in the Emergency Department, and/or those who are otherwise unresponsive.• Handling of sensitive data.• Worked in collaboration with medical students.• Multiple scientific papers have been published from this work.
