  Started work here as apprentice joiner. Got my Nvq level 3 and quickly moved on gaining experience in all areas of Repairs and Maintenance which then gave me the confidence to take on my first project as site foreman for North Yorkshire Police force in converting an old Thread Factory into a weapons armoury anď vehicle workshop which I will say was a real eye opener working with everything from high quality weapon stalls and vaults to store them down to compressed air fitting for the vehicle woŕkshio ànď lifts etc. The project also involved office space for over 150 people with a contract value of 1.270,000. Really proud moment when we handed the project ovéŕ and could see I was capable of much more. Shortly after this I was promoted to Contracts manager with some blue chip clients such as Barclays bank, Northumbria police, loyyds TSB anď Funnily enough Northumberland County council. Show less

  Day to day management of 25 trade operatives carrying out repairs to our housing stock and Northumberland county council owned buildings, I also arrange, manage and run our cyclical painting schemes and other schemes as Required, I also carry out project works and am involved in kitchen and bathroom replacement schemes and disabled adaptations, I also give advice and assistance on the asbestos management within repairs and maintenance due to my P405 management of asbestos, I am experienced in carrying out structural surveys as well as damp, mould and condensation issues. My experience throughout all trades makes me a knowledgable leader but will always listen to the experience of the operatives on site, we are all learning every day, I take our company Health and Safety very seriously and was instrumental in bringing in safe systems of work for our trade team in particular those operatives working at height by introducing the Tetra harness system and having Managers and Team Leaders take up the Scaffold Inspectors Certification as well as IPAF and S.M.S.T.S Which helps us all work safely and efficiently.
