In 2017, I was recognised by the Western Cape Government for this excellent work and awarded an internship at the Spatial Planning Directorate which forms part of the Department of Environmental Affairs & Development Planning (DEA&DP).

      Postgraduate Student Research Award Faculty of Engineering & Built Environment, University of Cape Town Apr 2017 I was recognised by my academic faculty for publishing a research paper in an academic, peer-reviewed journal prior to graduation. The research paper is titled ‘Office Places, Work Spaces: An Ethnographic Engagement with the Spatial Dimensions of Work’, and was published in the Journal for Undergraduate Ethnography in July of 2017.

      Harry Crossley Research Fellow The Harry Crossley Foundation Jan 2017 This fellowship was awarded on the basis of academic merit and in response to a research proposal submitted to the Crossley Selection Committee on the topic of planning for urban food security. Without the generous fellowship from the Crossley foundation, I would not have been able to write my dissertation on the correlation between urban regeneration/gentrification projects, and urban food security for the lower-income households who remain in the area.
