      Senior Design Project

      • Innovative Approach: Designed and wrote a program that measured the engagement level of Autistic children. Assisted children to learn essential skills needed for success in school and beyond. The program was incorporated into a NeuroSky MindWave Headset, device that measures brainwaves. • Virtual Programming: Designed, programmed, and incorporated an electric wave measuring devices with Laboratory Virtual Instrument Engineering Workbench (LabVIEW). Configured and determined attention and engagement level of Autistic children. • Programming/Scripting: Optimized and processed video file captured with Webcam in numerical computing environment, MATLAB. Generated and determined the duration of student’s focus in the classroom. • Creative and Strategic Planning: Researched and performed a quantitative analysis on various engagement measuring devices. Developed and determined Electroencephalogram (EEG) and facial recognition system as potential engagement measuring device. • Problem Solving: Conducted quantitative and qualitative analysis on engagement data generated from engagement measuring devices to determine the improvement. Achieved 11% increment in the accuracy level from the projected engagement level of 70%. • Communication with Client: Collaborated and established professional relationship with end users and employees by presenting project briefs, research and analysis report.
