      This placement required working closely with patients, planing, monitoring and evaluating nutritional advice and dietetic treatment for patients with supervision from a dietetic mentor. Duties included using 24 hour diet recall to collect patients usual dietary intake, assessing their blood pressure, measuring their height, body weight, body fat, waist circumference, etc. Checking if patients have any allergies, checking patients blood tests and general information. Developing a specific diet plan depending on their needs and condition. Making sure that they are receiving the correct meals from the kitchen, making sure that they are consuming their meals and monitoring patients progress. The placement also involved observation of the kitchen operation and the preparation of meals and assisting patients with meals if needed. Show less
