To lead a project in Ulaan Baatar, a post-socialist city, is to work in an in in-between two systems . The project sought to support the urban transition of an old botanical park and an ex-collectivized production system. Built around a centuries-old garden city, Amgalam neighborhood is an emerging urban form built upon a socialo-functionnalist urban grid. It is now a network of agricultural enclosures with a high density of inhabitants and uses. -> Based on an intensive fieldwork and mapping process the urban strategy takes up from the floodplain scale and aims at maintaining ecosystem-related local uses -private and commons -, while the architectural designs grasp local empowerment, using spatial grafting on a "unplugged" manufacturing-unit to provide the local communion with a school extension, a water facility and public spaces close to the park.
