  Manage the safety program for a widely complex aircraft maintenance facility. As the Safety Chief I plan, organize and direct the activities of the Ogden Air Logistics Complex and Occupational Health office (ESOH), ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and meeting customer needs. Ogden ALC responsibilities extend to maintenance operations at remote sites in Japan, Arizona, Colorado, Nebraska, Texas, and California, and ICBM wings located in Wyoming, North Dakota, and Montana. With approximately 8000 employees performing maintenance on a wide variety of aircraft, weapons and equipment. The complex provides depot repair, overhaul and modification of the A-10, C-130, F-16, F-22, F-35 and T-38 aircraft, the Minuteman Intercontinental Ballistic Missile system (ICBM), and a wide range of commodities. These include landing gear, wheels and brakes, rocket motors, air munitions and guided bombs, photonics equipment, training devices, software, electronics, avionics, instruments, hydraulics, power systems, and other aerospace-related components.   I managed the Bureau of Land Management, Utah State safety program and related elements. I advised management in developing and implementing the occupational safety and health program in their organization. I advised management on application of policies and procedures in order to control or eliminate hazards, to include the application and use of personal protective equipment. I participated in executive meetings, program planning and budget execution. I provided injury and accident data to management that drove the planning process. I inspected or coordinated the annual inspection of facilities and assessments of occupational safety and health programs for compliance with applicable OSHA, DOI, Bureau, and State regulatory requirements. As the manager I coordinated development of an annual program plan to address correction of identified inspection deficiencies and detailed initiatives and actions being taken to enhance program compliance in accordance with applicable OSHA, DOI, and Bureau regulatory requirements. I developed and wrote documents detailing audit and program assessment data providing action plans, and improvement recommendations, I then tracked corrective actions through to final abatement.
