    • Procore Technologies

      Mar 2016 - now

As part of Procore’s Industry Strategy team, I partner with customers, prospects, and industry organizations to explore the challenges, transformations, and innovations shaping construction. This team works across corporate strategy and marketing, leveraging deep industry expertise and relationships to advocate for the industry and help align Procore’s strategy with industry needs. My role focuses on driving conversations about where the industry is today and where it’s headed, with an emphasis on workforce development, technology adoption, and industry best practices. By engaging with industry leaders and professionals, I aim to surface key challenges, highlight emerging opportunities, and support meaningful change in the built environment. If you’re navigating change, addressing workforce challenges, or driving innovation in construction, I’d love to connect. Show less At Procore I have the honor of leading two key learning functions alongside passionate and competent team members committed to creating meaningful learning experiences for our Procore team and industry partners. Construction Education (ConEd) at Procore was founded to help Procore better understand How Construction Works and How Procore helps. Though these concepts may feel simple, they are key to Procore’s Vision of improving the lives of everyone in Construction. This enormous undertaking starts and is supported by an understanding of the industry we are serving and the people that create our built world. Through our programming we aim to improve Procore’s construction literacy, build empathy for our clients and improve Procore’s Product. Though the ConEd team was founded to serve our internal learners, we have been sought out by the industry to deliver training i.e. AGC's Project Manager Development Course. Our Employee Onboarding program is designed to connect evert new Procore teammate to the company, the people and the industry. The program has been anchored on our award winning, week-long new hire Orientation and continues to expand with the mission of delivering a unified global onboarding experience to every single new Procorian. Our New Hire Orientation is delivered to cohorts of new hires in a classroom setting (historically at our headquarters in CA, but more recently via Zoom). In Orientation, folks learn about Procore's Mission, Vision & Values, the company story/history & culture, company strategy, leadership philosophies, company structure including intros to key departments & systems. Orientation includes 14 hours of Construction specific learning where new hires are introduced to Construction Management including key players, phases, key processes, and the Procore platform. Beyond Orientation, new hires are provided with resources and learning experiences that help ramp them into the company and prepare them to do their best work at Procore. Show less As manager of Procore's Construction Education Programs, I am responsible for detecting and listening to the learning needs of our Organization and then delivering educational solutions that meet these needs. As a leader in the Construction Technology Space, Procore is expected to deliver a construction management platform that meets and exceeds the needs of our clients as they run multi-million dollar projects that build the world we all live in. In order for our teams to be most effective at solving our client's complex challenges, we offer construction education and training internally that help each Procore employee build a practical understanding of construction management as well as create empathy for the intensity and pressure that our end-users work under in their day-to-day. Our Construction Education Program begins with 13.5 hours of Construction Management Basics during our 40 hour Orientation for all new Employees. Our continuing Construction Education Initiatives include job site visits, role-based training that educates on the primary roles on a construction project (i.e. Project Manager, Project Engineer, Superintendent, Architect, Subcontractor, etc.), hands-on training that mimics the key processes prevalent on a project (i.e. Bidding, Contracting, Materials Procurement, Billing, Change Management, etc.). Training and learning opportunities are offered in a variety of mediums including Instructor Led Training, Online, Bookclub, and 1 on 1 tutoring. My partner, Matt, and I have created a Real Estate Investing Partnership, purchasing multi-family properties in Michigan, Ohio, California. Through this Real Estate [Ad]Venture, we have a vision of housing humans in a way that fosters freedom for us and for our tenants. Having grownup housing insecure myself, I know that having stable, safe, affordable housing provides a of freedom peace of mind. We were both taught by role models in our childhood that Real Estate was a way toward freedom, that had the power to also help other humans along the way. From there, it was locked in our minds that we had futures in real estate. We come equipped with a unique experience set that will allow us to succeed in our Mission to build a portfolio of housing that meets the needs of humans - for peace of mind and enjoyment, while also building generational wealth for our family. As humans navigating life, we are both very rooted in our personal values and have had the good fortune to work for values-driven companies in our long Construction careers. What does this mean for Agile Properties? Well, it will be values-driven as well. - Be Fair: Treating all stakeholders and each other justly and with respect.- Be Driven: Being unwavering our commitment to this journey, without being hasty. - Details drive clarity: Being carefully reasoned, curious and disciplined. - Creative Curiosity: Being Innovative in our approaches and partnerships.
